This room was originally a sitting room off the Orangerie, but quite frankly, we didn’t need another room to sit in. So after some convincing from my husband, we decided to transform the space into a home gym. And I am so happy we did! It is hard enough to get motivated at times, but with a space this welcoming and inspiring, we find ourselves sticking to our routines!
“Not your typical home gym”. That is the response we get when people first see it, but boy is it easy on the eyes! It strikes the balance of both form and function. The perfect space for meditation, yoga, weight lifting, running, cycling and even a great space to just listen to the rain! With more than ample lighting between the skylights and windows, it feels like an extension of the outdoors, and that is something we definitely played into when it came to the design elements- ie: warmer wall color and wallpaper. Our Peloton equipment, the bike and the tread, are all that is needed for a hardcore workout and don’t take up too much space where floor work is impossible. The layout allows you to really spread out and have different “stations” so to say. All in all, we are so beyond pleased with how this room turned out and it was incredibly quick and affordable in retrospect. Most items were sourced from Amazon Home, and were so easy (ie: floor squares). I am continually blown away by how a little paint and minor decor can really transform a space.
